Have you written a song you’d like to develop, but don’t know where to start or how others might hear it?
Bring Your Own Song (BYOS) is an opportunity to share songs that are works in progress and receive supportive, intentional feedback in a safe and encouraging group setting. This workshop is designed for songwriters who want to develop their material, gain perspective, and connect with fellow musicians in Brussels. You don’t need a “finished” song — curiosity, openness, and a willingness to share are what matter most.
The session is guided by Maddie our songwritting & lyricist teacher, who will help facilitate discussion and offer considerate feedback in the areas you’re most curious about.
Haven’t written a song yet? You’re very welcome to first join Workshop 0 – Writing with Intention, where you’ll learn songwriting techniques you can then apply to your own process.
What we’ll work on
Sharing at least one song in a small group of fellow artists
Giving and receiving intentional, constructive feedback
Exploring specific aspects of your song you want input on (lyrics, structure, melody, feel, etc.)
Listening actively to others and learning from their creative processes
Building connection within the local music community
There is no restriction on genre or style — all songs are welcome.
What you’ll walk away with
Clear, caring feedback on your song-in-progress
New perspectives and ideas to move your song forward
Greater confidence in sharing your work with others
Inspiration from hearing and discussing other artists’ songs
A stronger sense of community and creative support
This workshop is about progress, not perfection — and about learning how to talk about music in a generous, constructive way.
