Meet Diego - Electric Guitar Teacher
Born in Lima, Peru, Diego Higueras discovered the guitar at an early age. During his teenage years, he shifted toward electric guitar and immersed himself in the world of 1970s blues and rock. Largely self-taught at the beginning, he quickly developed an intuitive, expressive relationship with the instrument, using it as a direct channel for emotion and musical storytelling.
At the age of 20, Diego moved to Belgium, where he studied applied electronics with a specialization in audio, while actively engaging in the Brussels music scene. With over 15 years of stage experience, he has taken part in countless jam sessions and led one of the city’s most influential jams for two years—marking the start of a solid and well-recognized professional career.
Over the years, Diego has performed extensively in Belgium, across Europe, and internationally, including in the Americas, Africa, and Asia. His projects span blues rock and world music, shaping an open musical identity deeply rooted in blues, soul, and electric guitar.
Diego exclusively teaches electric guitar, with a strong focus on blues and soul, drawing from more than 15 years of professional and live performance experience.
For him, technique is not an end in itself, but a toolbox in service of expression and emotion. His goal is to help students make the guitar a natural extension of themselves—a personal, expressive voice.
His lessons emphasize listening, enjoyment, and a playful approach to learning, within a safe, supportive, and welcoming environment. Each student is guided at their own pace, with lessons tailored to their goals, musical sensibility, and artistic identity.
