Words Between The Lines - Blackout Poetry & Collage

What if inspiration was already hidden in the words around you?

Songwriting and poetry often begin in the same place: observation, perspective, and personal meaning.

In this playful and reflective workshop, Maddie invites you to explore self-expression through blackout poetry and collage. Using existing texts, you’ll uncover words and phrases that resonate with you, transforming ordinary pages into something personal and meaningful.

Before diving into songwriting, Maddie trained as a poet, and blackout poetry remains one of her favorite creative practices. Through this process, you’ll explore how your perspective shapes your artistic voice — and how inspiration can be found in everyday life.
